Dad's old ...

Hey, gang! It's me ... Pierce! It was another busy week.

Tuesday everyone was in a good mood and we tried for a family photo but nothing seemed to work out right. Oh well, I think this one is pretty good.

Wednesday Mom locked up her "Best Mommy Ever!" award by finding me the coolest toy ever ... a slide!

She, Dad and I picked it up after work/school and I couldn't wait to get home and give it a try.

I tested it at least 25 times that night to make sure it was just right and ...

... it was!

Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, but just in case you thought my life was all wine and roses I did get pretty sad the next day when I couldn't have the big bowl of fruit on my tray. (Mom doesn't seem to trust me with full bowls of anything after "the incident".)

The weekend was fun but weather kind of messed things up. It was cool and rainy which kept Dad from golfing, me from sliding and both of us inside bugging Mom.

Grandma Maggy came over Saturday to help Mom and I celebrate a special day with Dad. He turned 40! Wow. He's so old! (He couldn't blow out 40 candles so Mom just gave him one.)

I did my part to help finish the cup cakes and spread cheer during the celebration. (Weird, I had breakfast and took a bath then had lunch and got another bath. I wonder why.)

That night Mom and I took Dad to Raccoon River Brewing Company for a family birthday dinner. We had a lot of fun and split a big piece of cake.
This morning was rainy and cold (again) so Dad didn't golf. We decided that a good family breakfast was in order so headed off to A.K. O'Conners in our neighborhood for some food and fun.

Our original plan was to take in an I-Cubs game but again Mother Nature said "No!". So, after naps Dad and I struck out on our own. Neither of us had ever been or knew what to expect but were impressed with our trip to Bass Pro Shops.

They had a HUGE fish tank that I really enjoyed ...

... had products for sale that Dad thought might be useful ...

... and some that neither one of us really understood.
Needless to say we were glad we went. It was a learning experience and lots of people seem to spend lots of money there. Afterwards Dad made a side trip to Golf Galaxy to get his bearings. (He seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and needed to get back into his "comfort zone".)

It was an odd week and I can't help but think Dad's birthday got to him somehow. This weekend kept singing an odd song and staring blankly into space. I promised that I would get him a nice room "in the home" when the time came and that seemed reassuring.

Well, that's it for now. Oh, one thing before I go ... can anyone explain bumper stickers to me? I don't get it.

Have a great week!

Much love to all ...

Pierce
