Touch stuff ...

The theme of this week's blog is touching. As an "active" three year old I'm quickly finding out that there is stuff I can touch and there is stuff I can't. It seems like the stuff I can't is usually the best stuff, but that's another post.

This week Dad got old. He's 42 going on 80 and I teased him quite a bit. Tuesday I tried to touch all of the cupcakes Mom bought and claim them as my own but was denied.

Wednesday when I went to school I wore my new sunglasses and made sure nobody touched them!
Saturday was the annual Junior League "Touch a Truck" event. It was cold and windy when we left the house so Dad and I did what all good rural folks do ... we tested the wind with our tongues to see if it was going to rain. (It wasn't.)
Given Papa and Uncle Eric's access to fire trucks I'm not used to having to share my truck time with other kids (amateurs) so that was tough, but I got my fix in.
Have you ever touched the bristles of a street sweeper brush? I have. Wow. They are strong and pointy.
Pierce to the rescue! Touching up streets and making them nice and clean is an important job.
Need some work done with a mini excavator? I'm on it.
I've never touched such a big bucket before. I could stand up in it and my head wouldn't touch the top!
Backhoe! Yeah!
Shifting gears I moved from high tech to high touch and scoped out the back of an ambulance with Mom. (She made me promise to never be the patient in one of these.)
And finally, to celebrate my roots I finished up the "Touch a Truck" event in a tractor. Yep, it was a good time and I felt like a real farmer...
... particularly when we got home and Dad and I surveyed our crop of grass in the front yard. It's going to be a good growing season if we get a touch of rain.
Today Mom and I worked on May baskets ...
... and my homework assignment. Like my flower?
The family is getting ready for our trip next week and I got my new suitcase today! What an awesome gift from Mom and Dad! (I was touched.) I even got a cool airplane shirt for the upcoming journey.
That's it for now! Have a great week, everyone!
