Something's fishy ...

Hello, everybody. First things first ... my blogging program has been updated and I'm not really sure how everything works so some patience from my loyal readers would be appreciated.

I had a great play date with my friends, the Taylors, this week. Not only did Bryce and Alex introduce me to some of their friends in the neighborhood I got to help stock the fish pond with their Mom, Robin.
Okay ... time to lower the fish in...
This weekend Mom and I prepared for Dad's birthday party with Grandma Maggy. I helped bake the cake
and we got to use the mixer, which is always a blast.
After the cake was made, we set it aside until today. I offered to help Dad blow out the candles but as you can see he was pretty suspicious. He made me promise not to jump the gun and blow them out before he had a chance. I made him promise not to make Mom put a candle on the cake for every year as we just got new smoke detectors and I knew it would be a loud party with all of those alarms going off.
Mom has already made Dad agree that this picture Grandma Maggy took would not be our Christmas card photo.
After the candles and the photos Dad wanted to show Grandma Maggy and Mom exactly where his head hurt. He implied that I may be the source of some of his pain. I think he's just old and grumpy.
I guarantee there was no pain after he got Grandma Maggy's gift. Dad had been hinting since we left The Muppets movie early a few weeks back, and Mom gave the hint to Grandma. (By hinting I mean begging and generally driving the subject into the ground.)
We all had a nice surprise when Steve stopped by today, too. He had some cake, told some stories and, as he often does, gave everyone a good laugh and a smile to carry us through our day.
A couple more things ... we talked about firemen and police officers in school this past week and I now have a badge. I think this makes my position official and I have a couple of people I plan to arrest as soon as I can get my hands on them. Watch out, Officer Miller is on the case!

I also want to welcome the newest addition to the Alton clan to this world. I know the Moore and Alton families are thrilled about Kellen and I look forward to meeting him. (Kellen - just hit me up with a text if you have any questions about anything.)

Peace out.
