Constructing a week ...

Hello, everyone.

Thanks for stopping by. I have lots to share this week and I know you won't be disappointed.

Early in the week I got to go with Dad to Mom's dentist appointment. It was cool to see all the things in a dentist's office and, come to find out, I may get to sit in the chair later this month! That will be an interesting experience.

The Iowa Energy work with Flynn Wright and locked up the NBA D-League Championship this week! The big game was Wednesday night and I went for the first half. (They ended up losing but winning the series on Friday night so everyone was really happy.)

Thursday after school I needed to get some work done in the yard so I came home and dug right in. Dad helped me while Mom shopped for the party she was throwing with Grant White's mom the next morning.

Dad and I had a boys' morning on Friday because Mom was out of the house by 3 a.m. (Crazy) Dad did something cool and took a different route to school so I could see the garbage trucks. Mom did something cool later that day when she picked me up and had some new construction equipment for me to play with! Yeah, Mom!

It was a good thing I got some practice in because the next morning we went to an event called "Touch A Truck". Wholly Cow!!!! All the construction equipment and trucks a guy could ask for and I got to climb right in and make myself at home.

The first stop was the loader tractor. It was a Massey Ferguson but I didn't mind.

Next was the uniloader ...

... the compact or mini excavator...

... the backhoe ...

... and an ambulance! (In between I made a stop at a dump truck, a sprint car, a bus, a police car, and concrete pump. AWESOME!!!!

Next up? A short nap then a trip to the Fletchers. Here I am making May baskets with my buddy Grant.

After dinner we shot hoops ...

... and hung out. (What?! We're not doing anything? These aren't our guilty faces.)

Today was a great day at church. The Killinger Big Band played! You can't go wrong with a service featuring Hoagey Carmichael and Irving Berlin. Toe tappin excellence!

I was into it!

Whew! What a service. Okay, let's hit the road and go visit Grandma Margaret and Papa Jack! Feeling sleeeeeppppppyyyyyy...

... but a stop at A&W will wake me up! Yeah!

I had a great visit. Singing songs and talking to Grandma Margaret. Discussing tractors and planes with Papa Jack. He even helped me work on my handshake. A firm handshake and eye contact will take a guy far. Good advice, I'll remember that.

Dad and I took a nice walk around the farm and I had lots of questions. This is a barn where the cows used to sleep before they were milked. Dad had tons to share but I wanted to keep moving. (He kept just standing around and getting all sentimental and stuff.)
At the end of our walk we reached my destination. (I like Papa Jack's 4020 a lot more than I liked that Massey Ferguson.)

After we got back from Chariton Dad mowed the yard while Mom and I delivered May baskets.

With all the coverage of William and Kate I had Mom help me rehearse my parade wave this afternoon. You know, just in case. (A couple of the flower girls Friday morning were really cute!)

Until next time!
