The week that was ...

The week started out right ... I switched to my new "big boy" car seat!

I also had a fun day with Grant. We got our photos taken then went out to eat.

Friday I spent the night at Grandma Maggy's and we had a good time, but I slept a lot.

Saturday was a day of errands ... we started off at Lowe's ...

... grabbed a bite at Macaroni Grill ...

... made a stop at the place I call "My little slice of Heaven.", Babies R Us ...

... and, finally ended our evening doing what all the cool kids do on Saturday night, going grocery shopping.

Today Dad's cousin Ellen came over and brought me the coolest Holstein cow bubble maker!

And the week ended as strongly as it began ... Mom and Dad hung the swing Grandma Kathy bought me in the front yard and now I can swing whenever I want!

Have a great week!

A week of fine living ...

This week I saw live music, enjoyed a fun picnic and felt artistic.

Wednesday I went to Grandma Maggy's band concert and she showed me her flute.

Thursday evening I went to a picnic with Mom's work friends. They are all really nice people and I think we hit it off.

Friday evening was spent at home relaxing after a tough week.
Dad helped me play the "up and down" game ... it's a blast!

Saturday I spent time with Grandma and we went on couple of walks since it was so nice out.
Saturday night was Jazz in July and a rousing performance by the Java Jews, a klezmer band from Des Moines. (I bought the CD if anyone wants to borrow it.)
The Dillons were there and it was fun to catch up.
I also produced my first artistic masterpiece and it has earned permanent installation at the Museum of Abstract Fridge Art, located in Mom and Dad's kitchen. I call it "Art Hands, 2009".
Have a great week!

A trip to bountiful ...

After my recent bout with illness I'm back to normal ... and not a minute too soon as I got to hang with Grant and visit Grandma and Grandpa this past weekend!

Grandma came to Des Moines earlier this week to make sure I was getting better. (Nothing is better than good Grandma time!)

Grant and I had fun Wednesday and I got to show him how many pushups I can do.

Friday we headed to the farm. Uncle Eric was there, too. Everyone seemed happy to see me. (I got the sense that they couldn't have cared less about Mom and Dad and that's fine ... I'm cool with being the center of attention.)

Grandma bought me a bunch of very cool (very loud) things that Mom and Dad said were "special, stay at Grandma's house" toys. Uncle Eric helped me figure them all out.

It was Grandma's birthday so we took a cake. I was showing it to Grandma and Grandpa and wanted them to know it was okay to eat ... so I grabbed a bite.

Nobody seemed too mad ... after all, I didn't take much.

One thing that I love about visiting Denmark is that there are lots of naps. Here I am helping Grandpa rest.

After that, Grandpa took the time to show me some special tractors on the computer ...

... and even gave Mom and me a ride!

I also got to swing, which was fun.

There are always lots of friends and family to see when I visit. Clayton stopped by, as did Tim and Ali and lots of other family.

Saturday night I stayed up late visiting and watching a race. (I'm not sure why, but I was the only one in my underwear ... weird.)

Sunday was church ...

... and a nap all the way home. Have a great week, everyone!

The highs and lows of a 7 month old boy.

What an interesting week ... it started with a brief non-speaking role in my first TV spot but ended with me at home fighting a bug. Mom and Dad had big plans, but ended up doing tons of laundry, talking a lot about my poop and fixating on Pedialyte.

Anyway, here I am with Mom and my co-star prior to filming our big scene.

Here is the finished spot.

Dad and I hung out on the set afterwards.

The rest of the week was spent napping and hanging out.

But I did get to see some fireworks! (Thanks, PBS!)

The weak end

Sorry for the delayed blog posting this week! This past weekend ended up being different than originally planned so I didn't get done as much as I had hoped.

Let's just say I did find time to nap ...

... and Mom and Dad dipped my toes in a wading pool for the first time. (I was horribly confused by the whole thing.)

This weekend I also tried puffs for the first time and while I'm not really sure how to eat them now it should come to me soon. (Mom suggested I ask some friends at school for some advice.)

Sunday I spent time at Dad's office because he was working.

He told me but I forgot what this guy does at Flynn Wright.
We did get to play pool and that was fun.

Bongos were cool, too!
The coolest thing was playing drums!
(Mom said I reminded her of a particular TV character.)

Until next time ... love, Pierce.

This week is the hottest it has ever been ...

... at least for me.

This week Mom and Dad turned on the air conditioning and I really like it.

I went to the doctor for my 6 month shots on Wednesday. They say I'm in the 90th percentile in length but 60th in weight so I guess all of the yoga Uncle Chris and I have done has paid off.

I realized this week that my doctor has a fish tank. WOW!!!! I hope Grandma and Grandpa Houston get one so I can see it when I visit.
My friend Evan's mom Jennifer stopped by and gave me some new toys and books on Wednesday, too.

Friday I hung out with Grant while Mom and Dad had dinner with Justin and Amanda.

We played with tractors, swapped stories and talked a lot about crawling. I think I may try that in the next couple of days.

Saturday we went to Clear Lake to hang out with some of Mom's friends from Central. I had never seen that much water! The boats were fun to watch and I got to spend a lot of time outside.

Everyone was really, really nice. I like Central folk ...

Today was Father's Day. Mom and I got Dad some cool gifts plus I made him something at school. Grandma Maggy sent over a gift as well. Dad seemed really happy and gave me lots of hugs and kisses.

Today I tried something new, a sippy cup! Mom had to help me, but I think there is potential here!

Have a great week!

Uncle!

This week Uncle Chris from California came to visit and it was great to reconnect.

We were able to spend a lot of time together and had much to catch up on.

Dad was in Miami so Mom, Chris and I did a bunch of fun stuff. My favorite was a trip to Gong-Fu Tea. I chose a nice Decaffeinated Organic Sench, which is the quintessential Japanese Green tea. It was divine.

One night Grandma took everyone to Fuddruckers, which was interesting. There was a lot to look at!
Uncle Chris brought me some cool gifts from Santa Cruz, where he lives. I love my new hat and Mom and Dad are excited for the Baby Bum Casting Kit.

When I finally got to spend some time with Dad after he got back I was so excited I peed all over him, the chair and the floor. (I didn't get in trouble though, I'm too cute.)

The week ended with some nice grilling on the deck. Mom made some great food and Dad ran the grill. A good time was had by all.
